WATCH | Dubai number plate auction hits Dh100 million record
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) held its 118th open auction for exclusive number plates on 26th April 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, setting a new record by generating about Dh100 million in proceeds.
The top-selling plates were (CC 22) at Dh8.35 million, (BB 20) at Dh7.52 million, and (BB 19) at Dh6.68 million.
A total of 90 plates, spanning two to five digits from various codes, were auctioned.
Participants registered through the RTA website, app, or Customer Happiness Centres, with a Dh25,000 security deposit and a Dh120 non-refundable registration fee required.
The event highlighted the growing popularity and success of RTA’s transparent auction model.
